Teen Attempts to Pass Vehicle, Wrecks on Ice Covered Roadway

An Illinois teen attempted to pass another vehicle and was injured on icy roads near Eagleville Friday afternoon. It was the second teen wreck on that stretch of road that afternoon; both wrecks happened within 45 minutes of each other.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2008 Pontiac G6 driven by Brooklynn Edwards (19) of Morris (IL) was northbound on I-35 on the 104 mile marker just south of Eagleville at around 4:15 pm. She attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control due to the icy conditions. She traveled off the west side of the roadway into the median and struck the ground, rotated counterclockwise, and came to rest in the median facing south.

Edwards received minor injuries in the accident. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck.
