Parnell Wreck Injures Three

A wreck in Parnell injured three Sunday morning at around 9:53 am. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2005 Chevy 2500 driven by David Auffert (58) of Parnell was northbound on Route 46 and a 1998 Toyota Tacoma driven by Donald Petersen (57) was southbound at Armstrong Street.

The Patrol says the Chevy attempted to make a left turn onto Armstrong Road from 46 and failed to yield to the Toyota, causing a head-on collision. Both lanes of traffic were blocked.

Auffert received moderate injuries and was taken to Mosaic in Maryville. A juvenile who was riding with Auffert received minor injuries and was taken to Mosaic. Petersen received serious injuries and was taken to Mosaic as well. Auffert was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The juvenile and Petersen were wearing seat belts.
