Obituary -- Willa Allee 1937-2019

Willa Allee was born at home in Sheridan, Missouri on October 23, 1937 to  Arthur and Hazel (Bainum) Pennington. She passed away on October 14, 2019 at Oak Point of Maryville at the age of 81, just short of her 82nd birthday.

Willa was united in marriage to Guy L “Bud” Allee on January 30, 1954 in Maryville, Missouri. They lived on the farm where Willa helped out with the farming as well as raising 3 children; Stephen, Chandra and Christopher. Willa was very busy, not only being a partner in farming with Bud but also being a devoted mother to her children.

She was a former Cub Scout leader when the boys were in Scouts, a talented seamstress and cook, Sunday school teacher, VBS teacher, and never knew a stranger.

Willa was an avid sports fan, playing softball and basketball as a young lady. She loved her Chiefs and also like watching the Royals.  She was well known for coining the phrase, “Shoot a Pickle!” which was her very favorite expression.   She loved spending time with her family and loved having the grandchildren and great-grandchildren around. Willa was a member of the Sheridan Christian Church, Sheridan Community Betterment Club where she participated in many of the annual plays they put on, American Legion Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed bowling on many various teams over the years.

Willa was preceded in death by her husband Bud, granddaughter Lindsay Rue, her parents; twin brother Willis, brother Kenneth and sisters Virginia, Juanita, and Doloris.

She is survived by children: Stephen Allee of Overland Park, Kansas; Chandra (Sterling) Hopkins of Sheridan, Missouri and Christopher (LaRue) Allee of Maryville, Missouri; 7 grandchildren: Caleb Hopkins (Cassandra) Chelsey Hopkins, Chris Hopkins (Jennifer) Nicholas Allee, Alex Allee, , Elise Allee and Bailey Allee; and 6 great-grandchildren: Corbin and Colden Hopkins, Chloey Hopkins,  Gracie Hopkins, Jaxon and Ella Schaeffer; nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 18, 2019 at the Sheridan Christian Church in Sheridan, Missouri. Interment will be in the Sheridan Cemetery (Vanskyock Addition) in Sheridan, Missouri. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri.
