County Postpones Decision on Food Ordinance

The Worth County Commission, at its September 16th meeting, postponed a decision to pass a food ordinance. The ordinance had been requested by the Tri-County Health Department. The county will revisit the issue in August or September of next year after they see how it works in other counties.

Also during the September 16th meeting, Presiding Commissioner Jubal Summers talked with a landowner about his brush situation on Road #232/129th Street. They will be up in a couple of weeks to trim the branches causing the problem.

During the September 23rd meeting, Economic Developer Gene Auten reported that the Worth County Holiday Bazaar will be held on the first Saturday in December. Sirens were tested October 2nd.

Road & Bridge Foreman Jim Fletchall reported that tax rock is still being hauled to parts of the county. They hope to finish during October. “Gravel Ends” signs will be ordered for a couple of roads. A brush issue on Road #141 has been reported.

During the September 30th meeting, a landowner called to report issues with Road #159/Raymond Street due to torrential rains in the area. The county will inspect it.

Treasurer Linda Brown reported that the state had reduced payments for the Statutory Recorder Fund.
The county proclaimed October 4th Manufacturing Day.

Road & Bridge Foreman Jim Fletchall reported that he had ordered materials for a bridge near Oxford and had inspected a tube near Sheridan.

Commissioners discussed water damage that was in the Extension Office.
