The defenses dominated in a steady downpour in Friday’s 28-6 win by Worth County over Orrick. The Tigers outgained Orrick 264-162 in total yardage and took advantage of some critical penalties against the Bearcats.
Despite the rain, Worth County was able to move the ball through the air. Aydan Gladstone was 10 for 17 for 127 yards. Alex Rinehart had 6 catches for 78 yards, Reed McIntyre 1 catch for 41 yards, Andrew Alarcon 1 catch for 6 yards, and Jaxon Anderson 2 catches for 2 yards.
Defensively, Jackson Runde has shown steady improvement and played his best game as a Tiger, getting 15 tackles. Austin Welch had 8, Reed McIntyre 7, Jaxon Anderson 6, Justin Dye 5, Alex Rinehart and Andrew Alarcon 4, Aydan Gladstone and Chase Atkins 3, and Dylan McIntyre, Reid Gabriel, and Colt Cameron 1.
Without Blake Buchanan to gash the Tigers with his legs, Jaxon Anderson was able to make a living in the backfield in passing situations, getting four sacks. Anderson also blocked two punts and boomed one himself 64 yards to flip the field during the second half.
