He was born on June 16, 1929 in Hatfield, Missouri the son of Leroy Clifford and Clara B. (Campbell) Westlake.
On August 6, 1951, he married Marilyn Scott in Bentonville, Arkansas. She survives of the home.
Gerald served in the United States Army and went on to farm. He loved farming and was on the same family farm for over 40 years. He served on the North Harrison R-III School Board, FHA Board of Bethany, MO and Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri Board. He and Marilyn enjoyed traveling the country in their motor home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Wauneta Wilcoxson and a daughter, Dianne Lane.
In addition to his wife, Gerald is also survived by his son, Rick Westlake, Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Lori (Mark) Smith, Kearney, MO; son-in-law, Mick Lane, Grand River, IA; grandchildren, Jaime and Jennifer Lane, Jessica (Tim) Burrow and Benjamin and Alexandra Smith and a great granddaughter, Olivia Burrow.
Gerald has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 19 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Harrison County Cancer Transportation Fund in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
