Maryville Walgreens to Close Next Month

The Maryville Walgreens store will close, the October 10th Maryville Forum reported. Its last day will be November 7th. All prescriptions will be transferred to the Hy-Vee Pharmacy.

The company announced back in August that it would close 200 stores around the country.

Corporate chains have been closing down and moving out of rural towns. The ShopKo store in Albany closed, and four different nursing homes in the area that have been owned by corporate chains have closed.

Other stores have been closing as well recently. Bed, Bath, & Beyond recently announced the closure of 60 stores. Forever 21 filed for bankruptcy, with closings likely.
