J.K. “Jake” Runyon, 80, passed peacefully September 15th at his home in Maryville, Missouri.
Family and friends may join us for a celebration of Jake’s life at Sheridan Christian Church in Sheridan, Missouri on October 12th at 11:00AM. The service will be followed by a luncheon at the church and burial at Isadora Cemetery in Isadora, Missouri. All are welcome to attend any and all events.
Jake was born at home in Grant City, Missouri on June 20th, 1939 to Nina and Monta Runyon. He grew up there and graduated from Horace Mann High School in Maryville, Missouri. Jake spent his life working for tractor companies including 24 years as Regional Sales Manager with Kubota Farm Equipment. He semi -retired in the late 80’s to farm on his land in Isadora, Missouri. His farms were very important to him and working the land was his first love. His grown children and grandchildren enjoyed visiting there and frequently fished, hunted and target shot. In 2017, Jake retired and moved to Maryville, Missouri.
He is survived by his children, Scott (Kim Baer) Runyon and Suzanne (Randy) Meeks, his grandchildren, Lucas Runyon and Payton Meeks, his brother Norman Runyon and his step-grandchildren Taylor (Alex) Jordan, Jamison Baer, Matthew (Lindsay) O’ Brien and Sayard (Ryan) Parrish. He is preceded in death by his son Kenny Runyon, his siblings, Betty Jersak, Charles Runyon, Madonna Runyon, Jerry Runyon and parents Nina and Monta Runyon.

Arrangements are under direction of Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri.
