Colton Wilmes Steps Up Game at Missouri Valley Despite Loss

Former Tiger athlete Colton Wilmes stepped up his game for Missouri Valley despite their 41-14 Homecoming loss to William Penn Saturday in Marshall. He had six tackles as he did all he could to stop a rushing juggernaut. The Statesmen scored the first 34 points, including a 16 play, 68 yard drive in the second quarter that gave the Statesmen control of the came up 21-0. The Vikings cut their deficit to 34-14 in the fourth quarter with 13:41 left, but then Penn scored again to put the game away. William Penn ran 63 plays from scrimmage, 60 of them rushing plays, for 358 yards. They dominated the turnover battle 3-1 and the Time of Possession battle 32:58 to 23:12.
