Two Injured in Wreck South of Bethany

Two people were injured Monday on a snow-covered road five miles south of Bethany at around 2:45 pm. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2001 Chevy Pickup driven by John Chadwick (73) of Jameson was southbound on Route 13 five miles south of Bethany. A 2014 Kia Sportage driven by Janie Harding (48) of Ridgeway had previously traveled off the snow-covered roadway and was stationary in the west ditch of Route 13 facing south. The Chevy Pickup began sliding on the snow-covered roadway, traveled off the west side, and the passenger side front bumper of the pickup struck the driver’s side rear bumper of the Kia.

A passenger in the 2001 Pickup, Angela Labee, received moderate injuries and was transported to Harrison County Community Hospital. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The driver of the Kia, Janie Harding, received moderate injuries and was taken to the Harrison County Community Hospital. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. John Chadwick, the driver of the pickup, was not injured.
