Courthouse News for January 9th, 2019

On Tuesday December 24, at 6:59 PM Jason Cox of Mount Ayr was involved in a fist fight in the parking lot of the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office. Cox was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Public Intoxication 1st offense. Cox is being held in the Ringgold County Jail waiting to be seen by magistrate.

On December 31st, 2018 at 0700 a caller reported a single vehicle accident in the ditch on 140th street. The registered owner Daniel Parker of Waukee (IA), was contacted by the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department and he stated he was headed south on 140th St and noticed a deer about to enter the roadway. As Parker was watching the deer, 140th St curved and he was unable to maintain control. The vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch rolling over and coming to a stop on the driver’s side. No injuries were reported.

On January 1st, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Jennifer Guyer (44) of West Des Moines (IA) alleging Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance at a Jail (Felony), DWI (Aggravated, Felony), and Speeding 26+ mph. A 10% cash bond was posted by the defendant of $1,000.

Wesley Smith, 26, of Lenox, was arrested on January 1, 2019, in the 300 block of West Illinois Street, in Lenox by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department. Smith was charged with Operating While Under the Influence and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Smith was also cited for Driving Without a Valid Driver's License and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt. Smith was able to post $1,300 bond and has been released from the Taylor County Sheriff's Office.

On January 2nd, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Richard Thomas Busch (53) of Blue Earth (MN) alleging Possession of Marijuana (Prior), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Prior), and No Tail Lights.

On January 2nd, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Richard Davidson (44) of Bethany alleging Driving While Revoked, No Insurance, No Seat Belt, Careless & Imprudent Driving (accident), and No Plates.

On January 2nd, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Andrea Nicole Jones (29) of Des Moines alleging Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Speeding.

On January 3rd, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Jackie Groom (61) of Grant City alleging Leaving the Scene of an Accident.

On January 3rd, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Dennis Bieghler (62) of Altoona (IA) alleging DWI and Careless & Imprudent Driving.

On January 3rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Bobby Pierce (60) of Stanberry in Gentry County on a Bethany Police Department warrant for a traffic violation.

Robert Girard, 38, of Lenox, was arrested on January 4, 2019, in the 1000 block of Tennessee Avenue, in Taylor County by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department. Girard had active Union and Adams County warrants for failure to appear on previous charges. Girard was transported to Adams County where he awaits to be seen by a magistrate.

On January 4th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Harold Neff (20) of Bethany alleging Distribution of a Controlled Substance in a Protected Location (Felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child Involving Drugs (Felony).

On January 4th, Worth County Prosecutor Janet Wake Larison filed charges against Jesse Hurkman (32) alleging Speeding.

Ashley Hernandez, 31, of Sharpsburg, was arrested on January 5, 2019, in the 300 block of Pearl Street, in Bedford by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department. Hernandez was charged with Driving While Suspended. Hernandez was suspended for non-payment of Iowa fines. She was additionally cited for Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance and Operating a Non-registered vehicle. Hernandez is being held at the Taylor County Sheriff's Office on $300 bond.

On January 5th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Danielle Morgan (26) of Grant City in Worth County on a charge of No Valid License.

On January 5th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Daniel Germann (32) of Omaha alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Amphetamine or Meth, Felony), and Possession of Marijuana.

On January 6th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Bradley Burton (33) of Albany in Gentry County on a Nodaway County warrant for Failure to Appear for No Valid License.

On January 7th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested James Schrampf (56) of Albany in Gentry County on a Jasper County Warrant for Fraud for Insufficient Funds Check and Driving While Suspended.

On January 7th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Patrick Quinlan (52) of Lenexa (KS) alleging Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Prior) and No Valid License.

On January 7th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Danielle Sivels (35) of St. Paul alleging DWI, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Speeding (20-25 mph).

On the night of January 7th or morning of January 8th, someone vandalized the community bulletin board sign in front of City Hall in Hopkins by breaking the glass.

On January 8th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Sandra Patterson (63) of Skidmore alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony).

Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
