Mustang Boys Use Strong Fourth Quarter to Down Osborn

North Nodaway’s boys generally use 5-6 players in their rotation. For Coach Jake Shipman, it’s about finding players that he can trust to play the entire four quarters.

But it was North Nodaway who wore down Osborn Tuesday when they beat them 61-34. They jumped out to a 14-5 lead over Osborn after one. The Wildcats hung around for the next two, playing North Nodaway evenly, trailing 43-30 after three, still within striking distance for the victory-starved Osborn squad. However, North Nodaway pulled away in the fourth, outscoring Osborn 18-4 in the fourth to get the win. Something similar happened in the West Nodaway game, where North Nodaway was able to push their lead into double digits at Fairfax in the fourth.

Arron Coleman had 20 points to lead the Mustangs. Cody Wood had 18, Tyler Bix 11, Ryan Riley 6, Karson Oberhauser 4, and Austin Bird 2. North Nodaway was 6 for 11 from the line. Cody Wood had three triples, while Ryan Riley had two.
