Local OATS Bus Service Suspended Due to Government Shutdown

The Government Shutdown will affect the local OATS Bus Services. Barbara Stephenson reported in her column this week (page 5) that there will be no more local OATS Bus service until the government shutdown ends; January 23rd will be their last day of service.

The Friday St. Joseph News-Press reported that Mosaic had agreed to fund the OATS Bus running in St. Joseph until the shutdown ends; however, no similar source has been found for this area.

The OATS Bus receives grants from the Federal Transit Administration to fund rides at a reduced rate. As a result of the shutdown, funds have not been received.
