Bill Pottorff Named Cainsville Superintendent

North Harrison graduate Bill Pottorff, the Principal at Cainsville, has been named superintendent at that school for next year by the school board, last week’s Bethany Republican-Clipper reported. Pottorff has been an umpire, a teacher, and a coach for several years. He coached girls basketball for several years, first for South Harrison and then for East Harrison before hanging up his whistle after last year.

Pottorff was one of the most colorful coaches in the area, constantly prowling the sidelines with his trademark glare and ranting and raving at his players. He had winning programs at both schools with his pressure defenses and his teams’ hard-nosed play.

Pottorff replaces Richard Smith, who is retiring from education after 47 years. He will be replaced by Ryan Rosenbaum, who moved from Lincoln (NE).
