In a reversal from previous results, the smaller schools of the GRC West toppled the bigger schools in the GRC East on the girls side 6 games to 2, while the boys teams held their own against the bigger schools, gaining a 4-4 split.
On the girls side, Worth County was facing Milan and had every reason to expect a close game, as Milan was coming in with a similar record to the Tigers, at 12-8. But what happened shocked everyone as Worth County completely outworked and outplayed Milan, getting the 59-30 win. They missed a ton of shots, but were fueled by 30 offensive boards as they were flying to the glass on every shot. Milan played a 1-2-2 trapping defense, but Worth County had enough ballhandlers that they could break it easily. Anna Gladstone had 14 points, Kaylee McElvain had 11, and Kristin New had 9 points. New led the team with 13 boards.
The boys also held up their end, gaining the 62-49 win over South Harrison. Ryan McClellan scored a career high with 22 points and was able to get into the lane at will against the Bulldogs. Mason Hawk had a strong game for the Tigers and Tevin Cameron once again played strongly off the bench.
