Harvey Ray Roach was born March 28, 1944 in Allendale, Missouri to Jesse and Lucy May (Barnhart) Roach. He went through 9th Grade in Allendale High School.
On June 21, 1966 Harvey was united in marriage to Eldeen Roach in Grant City, Missouri. To this union were four children, Harvey Ray Roach, Jr., Waunita Ann Giles, Tony Dwayne Roach and Angela Kay Morse. Harvey was drafted and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and worked as a tele-typewriter repairman and an automotive repair mechanic and continued on to Army Reserves.
Harvey ended his 13 year battle with cancer, passing away January 22, 2018 at the Clearview Home in Mount Ayr. He wished to be cremated and the family will have a gathering 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Harvey’s Home at 202 2nd Street in Tingley.
Left to cherish his memory are his four children Harvey Roach, Jr., Waunita (Scott) Giles, Tony Roach and Angela Morse; nine grandchildren, Danny Ray, Melissa Millsap, Tyler Ray, Kevin Ray, Elizabeth Legg, Tristen Hastings, Latanya Smith, Charity (Mitchell) Gilliland and Shyanna Pierce; sixteen great-grandchildren, Maddison Ray, Jermaine Millsap, Bentley Ray, Brianna Ray, Mathew Ray, Ethan Money, Rachael Hall, Pantera Smith, Shay Smith, Chloe Smith, Addyson Majors, Zoey Majors, Gracelynn Gilliland, Raylee Gilliland, Brylee Gilliland and Jeremiah Gilliland; one brother Darrell Roach.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Eldeen Roach January 3, 2017.
A Celebration of Life was held Sunday, January 28th at Harvey’s home in Tingley. Arrangements were under the direction of the Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr.
