Missouri Conservation Agents pro-actively patrol all hours of the day and night and respond to public and dispatch calls to provide conservation law enforcement, conservation area public safety, emergency public service and response, and search and rescue operations.
Recently a Missouri Conservation Agent was dispatched to a conservation area after a hunter noticed a car off road in an area not open to vehicles. It was covered with grass and other vegetation and there were four people who appeared to be associated with the vehicle. Upon contact one of the people ran on foot to keep from being detained by the Conservation Agent.
One person was arrested by the Conservation Agent before he could try and get away who had warrants for his arrest for drug possession. The vehicle had been in a pursuit with police in Kansas earlier that day. A picture of the man that ran was used to show the public on social media and other media outlets to try and find the person.
Conservation Agents work 24/7/365 to keep Missouri’s conservation areas as safe as possible for people to use within the area regulations and state laws. To report conservation violations you can contact Missouri Conservation Agents directly (numbers on MDC website) or by calling the county dispatch center. You can also call the OGT (Operation Game Thief) 24 hour hotline at 1-800-392-1111, you can remain anonymous and rewards are possible.
