Man Convicted of Damaging Conservation Property

Missouri Conservation Agents pro-actively patrol all hours of the day and night and respond to public and dispatch calls to provide conservation law enforcement, conservation area public safety, emergency public service and response, and search and rescue operations.

Recently a man pled guilty to second-degree vandalism for severe damage to two gates, wildlife food plots, and the parking lot at a conservation area. He was ordered to pay $695 in restitution, received a six-month suspended jail sentence, and one year of probation. This case was made because of another person at the conservation area that reported the violations and important information to the Conservation Agent for their investigation. Conservation areas were created for all people to enjoy doing outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, hiking trails, camping, wildlife viewing, etc.

Conservation Agents work 24/7/365 to keep Missouri’s conservation areas as safe as possible for people to use within the area regulations and state laws. To report conservation violations you can contact Missouri Conservation Agents directly (numbers on MDC website) or by calling the county dispatch center. You can also call the OGT (Operation Game Thief) 24 hour hotline at 1-800-392-1111, you can remain anonymous and rewards are possible.
