North Harrison’s girls continued their push for an HDC title, downing Tri-County 61-32 Friday. They took a 34-6 lead at halftime and were never challenged. Payton Craig scored 23 points and did nothing to hurt her third place standing among area scorers behind Jillian Rumpf (Mid-Buchanan) and Kortlyn Rounkles (Southwest Livingston). She continues to average 20 points per game. Emma Craig was right behind her with 18 points, posting a career high. Brandy Rivet had 7, Addie Slaughter 6, Kami Gibson 3, and Rainey Fordyce and Ashlynn Gilpatrick 2 each. Rivet continues to be on the leaderboard as well, averaging 13.6 points per game. Payton Craig has also taken over the lead in steals in the area, averaging 6.1 per game.
The site Max Preps has ranked the Shamrocks 9th in the state in Class 1. Northeast Nodaway is ranked 13th, while North Nodaway is ranked 16th. East Harrison, a conference foe, sits at 23rd.
The boys also won, breaking a brutal stretch and beating Tri-County 71-50 to get their fourth win of the year.
