North Nodaway’s girls, reeling from their 48-31 drubbing by Rock Port Wednesday night, got off on the wrong footing again against St. Joseph Christian in the third place game Saturday, falling behind 15-4. But then, they got a career night from Kristin Herndon, a season high from Alisha Davison, and a return to form by Ashley Thompson as they erased nearly all of their deficit by halftime and went on to win 55-50.
Thompson, who stayed on the floor for the whole game Saturday after battling foul trouble against Rock Port, led the scoring with 18. Davison, who posted a season high, got 16 points and 4 3-pointers. Kristin Herndon posted 16 as well, a career high for her. Kandace Damgar had 8 points and 2 3-pointers while Audrey Trimble had 6 and Keagan O’Riley had 4.
