Worth County R-III High School will hold Courtwarming on January 19, 2018 during the home basketball game against Pattonsburg. The coronation of the 2018 Courtwarming King and Queen and the introduction of the Royal Court will take place prior to the Lady Tigers basketball game around 5:30 pm in the high school gymnasium.
“We are excited to celebrate Courtwarming with the theme of ‘Lights, Camera, Action!”, said Dana Auffert, basketball cheerleading sponsor. Each JH/HS class will create a hall decoration around a selected movie and connect it to a Tiger Victory! Please come early to view the hall decorations before the game.
The cheerleaders will sponsor a Courtwarming dance in the school cafeteria following the conclusion of the Tigers game. All Junior High and High School students may attend. The cost is $3.00 per person or $5.00 per couple. Anyone brining a date from another school district MUST sign up in the High School Office by January 17.
“We would like to invite all alumni and our community to come out and support the Tiger teams,” said Chris Healy, Activities Director. Patrons living in the district 65 years old or over may pick up a complimentary athletic pass from the High School office or simply let the gatekeeper know that you are a Senior Citizen.
The Courtwarming Royal Court for 2018 consists of three Senior Queen and King Candidates. Cristina Clementoni, an exchange student living with Troy/Abby Hawk (Sheridan),Olivia Davidson, daughter of Scott/Robin Davidson (Sheridan), and Elizabeth Owens, daughter of Galen and Valerie Kemery (Worth) & Chris Owens (Crane, TX) are the Queen Candidates. The King candidates are Wayde Parman, son of Duane/Deb Parman (Sheridan); Will Engel, son of Jay/DJ Engel of Denver; and Cade Allee, son of Allen/Jamie Allee, Grant City.
The Courtwarming attendants are Juniors, Bryan McCord, son of Archie and Pam McCord (Grant City) and Kennedy Galanakis, daughter of Dino/Kera Galanakis (Grant City); Sophomores, Ethan Thomas, son of David and Toni Thomas (Sheridan) and Regan Allee, daughter of Allen/Jamie Allee (Grant City); and Freshmen, Nathan Adwell, son of Jon/Jean Adwell (Worth) and Jill Hardy, daughter of Brett/Stephanie Hardy (Grant City).
