Doin' God's Work for September 5th, 2012

It's September! A new season in our lives. Praise God for the rain and cooler temps. Amazing how God has greened things up!

A busy week with planning Labor Day activities. I hope everyone enjoyed the time off. For some, laboring for the Master until the setting sun doesn't take holidays. May God bless those who serve.

Wednesday at 6, some congregated for fellowship, singing songs of praise, and lifting up those in prayer who are having a difficult time right now. We discussed the 5th Sunday All-Parish at Grant City United Methodist Church. The Choir rehearsals will be 4 p.m. Sunday afternoons. The first meeting will be at the Sheridan United Methodist Church this Sunday, the 9th. May God bless those who desire to spend more time in the Lord's house on Sundays! Uniting voices from six churches will make a diverse choir; enjoying the privilege of singing praises is doing God's work. I hope that everyone who wants to be able to sing will be able to attend one of the rehearsals.

Tim Wall was at the pulpit Sunday with a message on "Warm hearts, active hands, and willing witness," continued from the series, "How well do we participate in our community?"

Next Sunday will be the last of this series with, "We believe in the Gift of the Church." A 12:30 discussion will follow at Ravenwood United Methodist Church to wrap up this series before beginning, "Getting it Right with my Neighbor," which will continue into October. Neighbors can be near and also in the foreign regions of the world.

September 19th after-school program, "Make a joyful noise," 3:30-5 at Grant City.

God is preparing our hearts to share good news in our daily walk with others. Join us as we continue to grow in His likeness. See you in church!
