Doin' God's Work for September 12th, 2012

God has blessed us with fall temps mixed with a few precious raindrops.

Wednesday at 6, we gathered and were blessed with two male vocals to sing praises and pray with. May God bless them for coming to His house in the middle of the week. No better place to refuel our spiritual nourishment to finish out the week to stay strong in the Lord.

Congratulations to the newlyweds Tonya Troutwine and Cody Mullock, who made the second biggest step in their lives. We wish them God's blessings.

Pastor Janis was at the pulpit Sunday finishing up the series on what we believe. May this series open our eyes to allow the Holy Spirit to empower us to walk and talk the way Christ intended for us to, to love our neighbor as ourselves.May we heed God's nudging us to do random acts of kindness.

At 4, the church choir met for the first rehearsal at Sheridan UMC. Next Sunday, they will meet in Ravenwood. A parish-wide PPR meeting was held following practice, preparing for the October 16th Charge Conference in Maryville. Mark your calendars!

Sunday was a blessed day but busy. I got the invitation to watch a new life be transformed at Baptism Sunday evening. It can't get much better than this!

God's grace and mercy is leading us to serve Him in every opportunity. May HE keep the farmers safe in their harvest to feed the multitudes. If you like to eat, thank God and a farmer.

Keep a song in your heart. See you in church!
