New Sports Medicine Walk-In Clinic

Northwest Medical Center hosted a Grand Opening for the new Sports Medicine Walk-In Clinic on Wednesday, September 12th.  The event featured a light breakfast and ribbon cutting ceremony for employees, friends, and media.  Dr. Katie Dias and Dr. Angelia Martin were the honorary ribbon cutters, highlighting their service and commitment to the opening of the clinic and additional sports medicine offerings.

Dr. Dias and Dr. Martin are passionate about providing access to top of the line services for our local athletes.  We are fortunate to have them working along with our other physicians to provide great family medicine and extra efforts related to athletics.”—Jon Doolittle, CEO Northwest Medical Center

“Our walk-in clinic is part of Northwest Medical Center’s broad suite of sports medicine services.  The goal of our clinic is to provide quick and convenient treatment of injuries and to provide patient-centered care that aligns with the patient’s existing care relationships.  As a care team, we focus on maximizing healthy participation in sports and other life activities.  Through our services at Northwest Medical Center and outreach services such as our athletic trainer and IMPACT concussion testing, we feel confident that our local athletes will be cared for and will be returned to play as efficiently and as safely as possible.”—Dr. Katie Dias, DO, Northwest Medical Center

Since opening its doors on August 7th, the clinic has treated patients with injuries ranging from knee and ankle problems to concussions and lacerations.  As an extension of the clinic, an athletic trainer is made available to Albany and Stanberry athletes.  This partnering relationship ensures that athletes receive the treatments they need quickly.  Albany High School Athletic Director, Kurtis Cox, states that the clinic is a welcomed service to our community

”Our partnership with the Sports Medicine Clinic and trainer program is running smoothly.  I know that our athletes’ parents appreciate the services, as well.  They don’t have to drive out-of-town to receive the
treatments that they need.  Our student-athletes receive excellent care, in or near their hometowns.”—Kurtis Cox, Albany High School Athletic Director

The Sports Medicine Walk-In Clinic is located in Northwest Medical Center’s Outpatient Pavilion.   Hours of operation are Tuesday-Friday, 7:00am-8:00am and Saturdays 8:00am-9:00am.
