1995 Tigers to be Honored for Homecoming

The 1995 Missouri 8-Man Football Championship team will be honored guests for Homecoming 2012. These Tigers entered the 1995 season thinking it was going to be a year of accomplishments for Worth County football. “We’re hoping to make it as special a season as the school has ever had—at least the most special since we started playing 8-man football,” Coach Mark Fletcher said. (News Press, 8/27/95) The 1995 Tigers did just that. After an undefeated regular season they went on to win the first ever in the school’s history Missouri 8-Man football championship with a 48-26 victory over North Andrew.
The 1995 Tiger team, coaches and cheerleaders will kick off their activities with a ride on the Tiger team float during the Homecoming parade at 2:15 p.m. The team will then meet at the Grant City Golf Club House for a dinner catered by teammate Tyler McElvain’s Worth Smokin’. The 1995 Tigers will have VIP seating at the Homecoming game where the 2012 Tigers will be playing the North Nodaway Mustangs. The 1995 Tigers defeated the Mustangs with an overtime score of 28-22 in the ninth game of the regular season. At halftime Friday night, the Tigers will be honored on the football field. Come on out and give the 1995 Fighting Tigers a warm welcome!
