Doin' God's Work for September 19th, 2012

"Make a Joyful Noise" after school program begins September 19th at Grant City from 3:30 to 5 p.m. A great way for youth to enrich their lives.

Ephesians 5:19 "Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart and give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of Jesus Christ." That sums up our Wednesday evening gathering at church. Of course there is fellowship and encouragement! Always room for more prayer partners too; join us! The 19th will be a 7:00 Sheridan board meeting.

The all-parish choir rehearsals have been another way to fellowship with others while learning a bit about pronunciation from northern Missouri and not sounding like a southerner. We met at Ravenwood UMC Sunday. September 23rd, we will rehearse at Hopkins at 4, followed by all-parish PPR meeting at 5. September calendar is filling up quickly with meetings to prepare for the Charge Conference October 16th at 2.

Travis was at the pulpit Sunday with a message on blessed. Have you ever stopped to think about the blessings you have received in your life? So often, we take things for granted. I have so much to thank God for, I wouldn't know where to begin if I had to write them all down! May we be a blessing to others this week in our journey as we grow in Jesus' likeness. It is never too late to begin a relationship with God! That is the first step towards making it right with our neighbors. The new series beginning with the Sermon on the Mount will continue into October. Let's sing some praises together! See you in church!
