Zaiden Chipps' Circus Shot Lifts Tiger "B" Boys

Zaiden Chipps' circus shot at the third quarter buzzer gave the Worth County "B" boys squad a lead they would not relinquish, and they hung on to win a 19-16 game against King City Tuesday, November 4th after a frantic back-and-forth fourth quarter.

King City would take an early lead after Kayden Ledford got a putback and added another basket to make it 4-0. Mason Hern put the Tigers on the board, but Kenzer Aborn got loose on defense to put the Wildkats up 6-2 early in the second.

Mason Hern hit two free throws and Jace Mullock knotted it up for the Tigers at 6-6. From there, neither team could take control during the rest of the second quarter and most of the third as the game was tied at 8, 10, and 12. Finally, Zaiden Chipps grabbed an offensive board and drew a foul for the Tigers with 19 seconds left in the third. He made one free throw and missed the second, but after a frantic scramble, Chipps got the board and flung it up and in as time expired to give the Tigers a 15-12 lead.

There was still plenty of adventure in the game as Ledford cut it to 15-14, but then Grayson Mullock scored four straight down the stretch to give the Tigers some separation at the end.

Mason Hern and Jace Mullock had 6 points each for the Tigers. Grayson Mullock had 4, and Zaiden Chipps had 3.

Emmett Frisch had 2 blocks.

Zaiden Chipps and Jace Mullock had 6 boards. Payton Stephenson had 4, Emmett Frisch 3, Desmond Dannar, Mason Hern, and Grayson Mullock had 2 each, and Jarrett Rush had 1.

Payton Stephenson had 5 tips. Jace Mullock and Emmett Frisch had 3 each, Grayson Mullock 2, and Desmond Dannar, Luca Sagel, Mason Hern, and Jarrett Rush had 1.

Payton Stephenson had 6 steals. He led a group of Tigers who were constantly swarming, pressing, and trapping King City all night like old times, when Todd Harding, Zack and Al Harmening, Jordan Harding, and Eli Mullock would constantly swarm, press, and trap teams much taller than they were. Mason Hern had 4, Jace Mullock, Grayson Mullock, and Jarrett Rush had 2, and Lane Pickering and Emmett Frisch had 1.
