Catelynn Moyer Hits Buzzer Beater for Tiger "B" Girls; Kenzley Yost Has Big Night for Bluejays

The "B" girls game between Worth County and NEN Thursday night was just as exciting as the "A" game, only the script was flipped in reverse. In the "A" game, Northeast Nodaway dug itself into a 17-2 hole, normally a safe lead in a junior high game, only to come back and win. In the B game, Worth County dug itself into a 10-4 hole, normally a safe lead in a B game, only to rally and win in the last two minutes 11-10.

The two teams fought to a 2-2 standoff after one quarter, with Catelynn Moyer hitting a baseline shot for the Tigers and Jordann Doty countering for the Bluejays. Addie Cadle put the Tigers up 4-2 to start the second before the craziness started.

First, Kenzley Yost sliced through the Tiger press and scored after getting a pass from Aurora Claphan. Then, she twice sliced through the Tiger defense to make it 8-4. Then, she grabbed a defensive board and walked the tightrope down the right side, finishing to make it 10-4.

But the Tigers began their comeback bid with Jolee Hauber getting a steal off the press. Catelynn Moyer followed with a free throw and then Hadley Downing got a steal with 19 seconds left and fed Gabbey Maudlin to cut it to 10-9. Then, following a stop, Gabbey Maudlin fed Catelynn Moyer, who sliced down the left side of the lane and scored at the buzzer to give the Tigers the 11-10 win.
