On October 27th, Amanda Morriss (43) of Maryville pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Circuit Court to a charge of Distribution of Controlled Substance (Felony). She was sentenced to eight years in the Missouri Department of Corrections by Judge Corey Herron. Court retains jurisdiction for 120 days, and the DOC will make recommendations regarding incarceration or probation.
On October 27th, Scott Alkire (68) of Barnard pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Circuit Court to a charge of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). He was placed on five years probation by Judge Corey Herron.
On October 28th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Curtis Clevenger (43) of Cameron alleging DWI (5th Offense, Felony) and Driving While Revoked. Bond was denied.
On October 28th, Harrison County Prosecutor Michael Wulff filed charges against Rex McClain (68) of Cainsville alleging two counts Violation of Protection Order and Stalking. Bond was set at $10,000, cash only.
On October 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Melvin Fincher (39) of Rolla alleging two counts Stealing (Felony). Bond was denied. An affidavit from the Missouri State Highway Patrol alleges that the defendant purchased cattle from a victim and left without paying for them. The defendant subsequently is alleged to have provided a tractor to the victim as payment for the cattle; the victim was to sell the tractor and reimburse any excess proceeds to the defendant, which the victim did. The Patrol alleges that the defendant did not own the tractor in question.
On October 31st, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Franklin Holcomb (43) of Gallatin alleging Failure to Register as Sex Offender (Felony). Bond was denied. Defendant is on probation in Livingston County for two non-support cases and in Livingston County for an Incest (Felony) charge.
On November 3rd, Matthew Olson (41) of Hiawatha (KS) pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Circuit Court to a charge of Harassment. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Corey Herron.
On November 3rd, Judge Joel Miller granted the dissolution of the marriage of Jake Simmons (30) of Grant City and Montana Simmons (26) in Worth County Associate Circuit Court.
Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
