Venita Madge Jennings died March 29, 2019 at the Worth
County Convalescent Center where she had briefly lived.
Venita was born in Grant City, Missouri on July 20, 1930,
daughter of John and Gladys Van Houtan.
She married Allen Fletchall in September of 1948. Together
they have four children: Randy Fletchall, Marsha James, Lora Kent and Kevin
Fletchall. The couple later divorced.
In December of 1968 Venita married Paul K. Jennings. They
celebrated 50 years together. Paul had four children from a previous marriage,
Cindy Johnson, Dearanne Nelson, Michele Sharp and Bruce Jennings. In later
years Paul and Venita adopted two daughters: Bonnie Ellis and Ruby
Moellenberndt.
Venita adored children very much. She had an in home daycare,
caring and loving many children in the Worth County area.
She enjoyed shopping at garage sales and auctions. She also
enjoyed summer softball games and spent many hours entertaining her children
and numerous grandchildren.
Venita was very gifted at working cross word puzzles and
rarely came across one she could not solve. She enjoyed reading and watching
soap operas. She had a sense of humor and a quick wit, always with a comeback
that brought smiles and many laughs.
Preceding Venita in death were her parents; three brothers:
Keith, JL, and Dean; three sisters: Wilma Allen, Ina Billups, Rita Krugh;
step-daughter Cindy Johnson and one granddaughter Tonya Fletchall.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Paul; nine
children and numerous grandchildren.
Graveside Service and Interment will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday,
April 2, 2019 at the Grant City Cemetery. There will be no visitation at her
request. Lunch and fellowship will follow the service for all family and
friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Worth County Convalescent
Center.
Arrangements are under the direction of Prugh-Dunfee Funeral
Home in Grant City.
