Two Injured in Head-On Collision Near Gilman City
Two were injured Monday in a head-on collision near Gilman City at around 8:22 am. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2007 Dodge Calibur driven by Ralph Meservey (82) of Chula (MO) was westbound and a 2019 Kia Optima driven by Rachel Flowers (32) of Gilman City was eastbound on Route H one mile west of Gilman City. The Optima crossed the centerline and struck the Calibur head-on. The Calibur ran off the north side of the roadway, overturned, crossed back across the roadway, and came to rest on its passenger side off the south side of the road. The Optima traveled off the north side of the roadway and came to rest on its wheels facing northwest.
Meservey received minor injuries in the wreck. Flowers received moderate injuries; both were taken to Harrison County Community Hospital. Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
