Obituary -- John Pace 1951-2019

John Leroy Pace was born January 12, 1951, the son of Don Pace and Signe (Anderson) Pace. He grew up in the Bedford area and graduated from Bedford High School. On June 6, 1970, he was united in marriage to Connie Lou Lamb. The couple was blessed with the birth of two children, John Jr., and Jodi. John entered the United States Air Force shortly after their marriage. For the next twenty plus years they were stationed in New Mexico, Mississippi, Nebraska and Oklahoma, where he retired from his military service. After his retirement from the Air Force in 1991, the family moved to Sharpsburg and then outside of Gravity, Iowa.

Through the years John enjoyed many hobbies, including hunting, fishing and working on cars. John loved to hangout with his grandchildren teaching them about the hobbies loved. He also loved to teach his grandchildren the important life skill of driving. John was also a proud member of the John F. Hardin American Legion Post 164. John's greatest trait though was his "Big Heart." He was always willing and able to help anyone who needed it in anyway he could.

Left to cherish John's memory are his children, John Pace Jr. and wife Andrea of Sharpsburgh, Iowa; and Jodi Jeter and husband Darren of Huxley, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Amber Kingery and husband Chad; John Pace III; Shawn Kasha and wife Kerri; Adam Sickels and special friend Jenna Cargo; Brianna Pace; Heather Roney; Shelby Roney; Zachary Jeter; Dustin Jeter; ten great-grandchildren Adailee Jeter; Mark Kasha; Lydia Kingery; Payton Fleharty; Preston Fleharty; Avery Kasha; Paisley Bolinger; Waylon Bolinger; Connor Jeter and Cambri Jones; siblings, Donnie Pace and wife Dorothy, Shirley Woods, Cindy Hamm, Hilma Bedsworth, Rick Pace and wife Ida, Bruce Pace and wife Lynette, Tom Pace and wife Lisa and Treva Smyser and husband Randy.

Preceding John in death are his loving wife, of 46 years, Connie and his mother Signe.

Although John will be greatly missed, his love and inspiration will live on through his family.
