North Harrison held its annual Pops and Pie Concert Saturday, raising around $4,700 from the pie auction. This does not include money raised from the free will donation supper, the silent auction, sponsorships, and other private donations. There were 75 pies auctioned off and others that were auctioned off in the silent auction.
A pie judging contest was held; 5th grader Annabelle Owens won the Pumpkin Pie Contest. Natalie Morgan won the Cream Pie category, while Tabrey (McClurg) Kimbrough won the Apple Custard and Overall Champion.
Proceeds went to help the music program, including paying for instruments. The band played in between the auction. The High School Band played a medley from Guardians of the Galaxy. The 5th and 6th Grade Band played the theme from Jurassic Park and the end theme from Apollo 13. The Choir sang “Sound of Silence” by Paul Simon. The Choir then sang “Footloose,” accompanied by dangers.
The High School Band played the themes from “Aladdin,” selections from “Moana,” and music from The Cars. The Color Guard then performed to “This is Me,” with Addie Slaughter singing during part of the routine.
Seniors who are graduating from the music program were recognized. They are Gavin Garrett, Olivia Babinski, Addie Slaughter, Sally Briggs, Cheyenne Peterson, Tyler Lundy, Mardee Sadowsky, and Ethan Valenti.
