Carmetta Maxine Jackson was born on April 10, 1934 in Grant City, Missouri to Woodson and Ada (Fletchall) Maudlin. She passed away on March 22, 2019 in Albany, Missouri at the age of 84.
Carmetta graduated from Grant City High School in 1951. She enjoyed working with Judges Harry Kibbe, Wilbur T. Osborne and Rex Beavers as the clerk of court for Worth County for 47 years retiring on August 31, 2006. Carmetta was a member of the Grant City Baptist Church, serving as Sunday school teacher and church outreach leader, Women’s Democrat Club, Worth County Democratic Committee, American Red Cross, Business & Professional Women’s Club and Girl Scout Leader.
Carmetta loved her church and served faithfully until her death. She enjoyed family and family reunions. She loved her dogs, especially Mississippi, Ancer, Kizzie, Sunshine and Fancy.
Carmetta was preceded in death by her parents Woodson and Ada Maudlin and two young sisters: Edna Lavena and Ada Lavon.
Left to cherish her memory are brothers: Frank Maudlin of the Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri and wife Marianna of Liberty, Missouri and Dale Maudlin and wife Laveta of Union Star, Missouri; nieces: Dallas Forrest and husband Craig of Columbia, Missouri, Rebecca Yarbrough and husband Ryan of St. Joseph, Missouri; nephew Tim Maudlin of Liberty, Missouri; niece Tina Parks of Liberty, MO; several great nieces and great nephews, many beloved cousins, and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City. Interment will be in Fletchall Cemetery of Grant City, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Friday.
