Marvin grew up in the Athelstan area and always enjoyed hunting a fishing throughout his lifetime. Marvin worked many different jobs throughout his life including, tiling and dozer work, farming, pouring concrete and laying block foundations.
Marvin was a caring man that was willing to help anyone in need. He had a strong work ethic and was always dependable. Marvin enjoyed spending time with family and his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory include his significant other, Margaret Stevens of Bedford; daughter, Martha Whipple and husband Jon of Bedford; son Marvin Young and wife Crystal of Des Moines; step-son David Lang of Florida; four grandchildren, Ethan Young, Caleb Young, Makayla Young and Erica Young; five brothers, John Young and wife Linda of Villisca, Forest Young of Athelstan, Denzel Young and wife Vicki of Mount Ayr, David Young and wife Shelly of Athelstan, and Frank Young of Maryville, Missouri; two sisters Janice Maxwell of Iowa; and Shirley Young of Athelstan along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Preceding Marvin in death were his parents, Burt and Irma Young; brother Rick Young; sister Irene Harrison; and a niece, Belinda Spencer.
May God grant comfort and strength to those who mourn Marvin’s passing.
