Northeast Nodaway FBLA Kicks Off New Year

Along with kicking off the new school year the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) are preparing for a great year. They have recently elected new officers chosen by a committee of NEN teachers and administrators, and former NEN FBLA officers. Our chapter president is Jason Henggeler, vice presidents Kaysie Wiederholt and Erica Hovey, Secretary Taryn Farnan, chapter treasurer  Sarah Bliley, project treasurer Steve Schulte, parliamentarian Tabitha Shipps, newspaper reporter Bailey Judd, and Yearbook Reporter Abbie Dunlap. NEN also has three students representing us as District 1 Officers. The officers are chosen at the District 1 contest each year in the spring. Each chapter sends two representatives to vote on the nominees based on the speeches given at the opening ceremony. Jason Henggeler is the FBLA District 1 President, assisted by Erica Hovey as the Treasurer and Kaysie Wiederholt as the Reporter.

FBLA would also like to recognize Jason Henggeler, Sarah Bliley, Taryn Farnan, Kaysie Wiederholt, and Steve Schulte for doing a great job serving lunch at the Platte Valley Conference meeting on August 10th, 2012. The meeting was held at Northeast Nodaway which hosted the teachers and administrators of the entire conference. These five students donated time on their day off to help out and did a wonderful job doing it.

FBLA is taking a trip to the New Theater Restaurant in Overland Park on December the 8th. All FBLA members, NEN staff, and their families are welcome to join us for an enjoyable Saturday. The theater will feature Marion Ross from Happy Days starring in The Game’s Afoot. Please see Mrs. Mullock for more details or call the school at 660-937-3125.
Abbie Dunlap, Reporter
