WC Head Start Learns Letters, Has Guest Visits

Well, we have started off to a great year at Worth County Head Start in Grant City. We have a great teaching team that works hard making sure everything goes to plan. Renea Baker, head teacher from Redding; Johnny Thurman, co-teacher from Grant City; Mary Welch, classroom assistant and bus driver from Parnell; Lou Groven, family advocate from Grant City; and Tricia Knight, center cook from Stanberry. We have been busy learning a different letter of the week as well as a number. We have also enjoyed some special guests here at Head Start. Ranger Kate from Ringgold County Parks has come out to do some animal programs with the kids and they have had a lot of fun with them. October is Head Start Awareness Month; some special things we did with the children included story time. The Mayor of Grant City, the Fire Department, and Sparkey the Fire Dog came to visit. We went out in the community and showed our appreciation to our community for the support they give us here at Head Start. We made banners to display and made snacks to be delivered during the week of October 22nd. So look for us to be out and about for a friendly hello from us here at Head Start and thank you for all you do for us.
