Wayne H. Pierson, 95, of Maryville, Missouri, passed away at home on Saturday, January 6, 2024, with family at his side.
Wayne was born in Pickering, Missouri on May 2, 1928, and lived all his life in the area.
He graduated from Pickering High School and had farmed with his dad. He later worked on the bridge crew with Nodaway County, and retired after 50 years as the body shop foreman with Boyles Motors in Maryville. He worked several more years as a self-employed carpenter in the area.
On November 11, 1951, Wayne was united in marriage to Betty Jean Wallace. She passed away on January 29, 2023, after 71 years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert Elmer and Ona May (Combs) Pierson, Sr., his 2 daughters, Debbie Money and Carla Pierson, 2 brothers, Gene and Pearl Pierson, his sister, Mary Pierson, grandson, Bradley Money, and son-in-law, Richard Money.
Wayne was a member and attended the Clearmont Baptist Church. He enjoyed flying his own airplane. He liked rebuilding cars, carpentry, traveling with Betty, and was quite a storyteller.
He leaves behind his 5 grandchildren, Angie (Thomas) Linville, Burlington Junction, Missouri, Christa (Josh) Aley, Kansas City, Missouri, Richelle (Nathan) Clark, Schell City, Missouri, Miranda (Dustin) Henggeler, Maryville, Missouri, and Josh (April) Money, Burlington Junction, Missouri, his brother, Bert (Judy Asher) Pierson, Jr., Smithville, Missouri, and his sister, Bonnie David, Fairfax, Missouri, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 12, 2024, at the Clearmont Baptist Church, Clearmont, Missouri. The burial will follow in the Miriam Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 PM, on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, Missouri.
