Area Courthouse, Police, and Crime Reports for January 10th, 2024

On December 20th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Kathryn Hansen (55) of Mount Ayr on a charge of Harassment. Bond was set at $300, cash only.

On January 1st, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Cassie Lane (32) of Blythedale alleging Harassment (Felony), Trespassing, and Tampering with Motor Vehicle. Bond was set at $10,000 cash only, posted by the defendant. On January 2nd, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Andrew Lane (36) of Blythedale alleging Harassment (Felony) and Trespass. Bond was set at $5,000, cash only.

On January 2nd, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Wendy Baker (45) of Ridgeway alleging Passing a Bad Check (Felony). An affidavit from the Prosecuting Attorney’s office alleges the defendant wrote a check for $1,115.06 to the City of Ridgeway that was returned for insufficient funds.

On January 2nd, Chance Barber (23) of Ravenwood pleaded guilty of Domestic Assault in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court and was given a Suspended Imposition of Sentence and sentenced to two years supervised probation by Judge Robert Rice.

On January 2nd, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Samuel Kreuscher (45) of Ellston on a charge of Reckless Use of a Firearm. Bond was set at $300.

On January 3rd, Worth County Prosecutor Janet Wake Larison filed charges against John Dickerson (63) of Afton alleging Violation of Ignition Interlock Device Requirements, Speeding (73 mph), and No Insurance.

On January 3rd, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Dylan Williams (18) of Albany alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident). 

On January 3rd, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Benjamin Marion (51) of Skidmore alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Trespassing. Bond was denied. Also on January 3rd, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Rebecca Lane (30) of Graham alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). Bond was denied.

On January 4th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Eric Gilliam (26) of Marion (IA) in Harrison County on a charge of DWI.

On January 4th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Truman Sample (67) of King City alleging Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway, DWI, and No Insurance.

On January 4th, the Western Missouri US Attorney’s Office reported that Tyler Wirth (35) of St. Joseph pleaded guilty to producing and possessing child pornography. He was sentenced to 23 years in federal prison without parole. Wirth must make $14,381 in restitution to three victims and spend the rest of his life on supervised release. He must also register as a sex offender upon his release. 

On January 5th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Josiah Brown (25) of Ridgeway alleging DWI, Failure to Signal, and No Seat Belt. 

On the evening of January 5th, the Lenox School Administration was advised that a threat was made to commit gun violence against the school district on social media. Following an investigation, the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department arrested a juvenile male and remanded him to the Iowa Juvenile Detention Center, where he is being held. School continued as scheduled with an increased law enforcement presence at the school.

On January 5th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Jason Howery (47) of Darlington alleging Domestic Assault (Felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Felony). Bond was set at $2,000, cash or corporate surety.

On the night of January 5th, during a snowstorm that turned the roads into slush and created low visibility, there was a slide-off accident on Route 46 near Route B between Sheridan and Grant City.

On January 7th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Tanner Sims (32) of Bethany alleging Domestic Assault (Felony) and Resisting Arrest (Felony). Bond was set at $10,000, cash only.

On January 8th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Roger Noah (58) of Barnard alleging Domestic Assault (Felony). Bond was set at $10,000, cash or corporate surety.

On January 8th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Sean Slaven (40) of Maryville alleging Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Felony), Possession of Weapon & Controlled Substance (Felony), and Felon in Possession of Firearm (Felony); Ivy Blozvich (24) of Maryville alleging Trafficking Drugs (Felony), Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony), and Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony); Cody Burden (30) of Maryville alleging Trafficking Drugs (Felony), Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony), and Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony); Scott Johnston (36) of Maryville alleging Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony); and Meagan Godfroy (31) of Maryville alleging Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony). Bond for Godfroy was set at $50,000, cash or corporate surety. Bond for Johnston was set at $20,000, cash or corporate surety.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
