Darlene Heflin, 80, of Pickering, Missouri passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
Darlene was born on June 17, 1943 in Ottawa, Kansas to Joe Leonard and Edith May (Elder) McAuley. She worked at an assisted living center while in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and King Radio in Ottawa, Kansas. Darlene was a member of Laura Street Baptist Church, where she was active in Sunday School Classes. She enjoyed making birthday cards and crocheting afghans and taking pictures of her grandchildren.
She married Dean Heflin on July 17, 1987 in Ottawa, Kansas. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include her son, Shawn (Laura) Mikelson; four grandchildren, Hannah, Hayden, Heath and Harper; two brothers, Buster McAuley and Darrell McAuley; two sisters, Donna Humphrey and Linda Leatherberry and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Carolyn Randall and Kathy Brown, sister-in-law, Stella McAuley and her first husband, Myron Mikelson.
Services 11 am Thursday, January 11th at Laura Street Baptist Church under the care of Price Funeral Home. Private burial will be held at the Orrsburg Cemetery, Orrsburg, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 10th at Price Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the Charles Stanley Ministries.
