Area Courthouse, Police, and Crime Reports for January 3rd, 2024

On December 26th at around 8:10 am, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2006 Chevy Silverado driven by Bryson Schellhorn (18) of Guilford was eastbound on Route Z six miles east of King City and a 2018 Freightliner driven by Douglas Clibon of Helena was westbound. The Patrol says the Silverado and its towed unit drove into the path of the Freightliner, which struck the left rear axle of the towed unit. The Freightliner then crossed the center of the roadway, traveled off the south side, and overturned. The Silverado traveled off the south side of the road, returned to the road, and came to rest in the westbound lane. Both people received minor injuries and were taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph.

On the night of December 26th and the morning of December 27th, there were three slideoffs in Worth County due to ice and snow. There was one east of Sheridan near Bart Hawk’s. There was one on Billy Goat Hill halfway between Sheridan and Grant City. There was one between Grant City and Allendale.

On December 27th, Special Prosecutor Janet Wake Larison filed charges against Miles Wilson (24) of Albany in Gentry County alleging Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer (Felony). 

On December 29th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2004 Dodge Ram driven by Michelle Jones (35) of Worth was westbound on Route 46 & Jaguar Avenue at around 12 midnight when she crossed the center line, overcorrected, returned to the westbound lane, and traveled off the north side, striking a ground and a tree, causing it to overturn. She received minor injuries and was taken to Mosaic in Albany. Subsequently, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Jones on charges of DWI and Failure to Maintain Right Half of Roadway.

On December 29th at 9 am, the Maryville Forum reported that a two-car accident on Main Street between 3rd and 4th Street resulted in one of the cars smashing a bench and then The Perk building. 

On January 2nd, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Ashley Farnsworth (29) of Albany alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident), Driving While Revoked, and No Insurance.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence.
