Diane Sederburg 1939-2024

Diane Adelle (Dippel) Sederburg was born on October 4th, 1939 in Bonapart, IA. She was the youngest of two children, born to Ernest Sr and Adelle Dippel. In 1944 the family moved to Shenandoah, IA.

Diane attended school in Shenandoah where she was an excellent student and excelled in swimming and was a life guard.  After her high school graduation, Diane married Duane (Ossie) Sederburg and they moved to Kansas City, MO where they had 3 children, Debbie, Donna and Darren.  The family then moved to Burlington Jct. MO where they had 3 more children, DeOnne, Daniella and Dinah.

Family was the most important and the main focus for both parents. Sports was a big part of their lives, especially softball. Diane spent many hours at ballgames, scorekeeping, getting kids to practices and in their early years dancing lessons, band practices, piano lessons, swimming lessons, etc. and she loved every minute of it.  She also helped Ossie run his businesses, etc.

After all the kids graduated high school both Ossie and Diane went back to college.  Diane graduated Summa Cum Laude with an Accounting Degree from Tarkio College. They then returned to the Kansas City area where Ossie took a job with the City of Gladstone and Diane went to work for the IRS.

Once Diane retired from the IRS her focus was solely dedicated to her adult children and their growing families.  She talked with pride about all their accomplishments and activities. She was also an avid reader and loved her Chiefs and Royals. She never missed a game.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, husband Ossie, son Darren, daughter DeOnne, and granddaughter Haley.

Diane is survived by her brother Ernest (Vi) Dippel, daughters Debbie (Joe) Slocum, Donna (Tony) Villegas, Daniella (Joe) Donaldson, and Dinah (Daryl) McCall as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
