North Harrison Renews Ethan Sickels’ Contract Through 2025-26, Names Him Principal for Next School Year

The North Harrison School Board, at their regular board meeting Wednesday, voted to extend Superintendent Ethan Sickels’ contract through the 2025-26 school year. They also named him the High School Principal through the 2024-25 school year.

The board approved the application of Aubrey Utley to serve as North Harrison’s candidate for a statewide scholarship award by Missouri United School Insurance Council (MUSIC).

Elementary Principal Susan Allen reported that teacher in-service was on January 3rd. The day was dedicated to teachers working in their rooms to prepare for the second semester and work on grade cards. Teachers in 3rd through 6th grades participated in a webinar on the MAP preparation materials the school uses.

Results are in for the midyear benchmark assessments. Students are showing progress on these assessments.

The school is participating in the Williford STEM event this year. Some classes are participating as a whole class, and others are using it as an after-school activity.

A poverty simulation will be held at the school on Monday, February 12th for the staff. It will start at 9 am and end around 11:30 am.

The HVAC project will now be done either on spring break or during summer. It was to have been done during Christmas break, but a few parts they needed were not in.

The next board meeting will be Wednesday, February 21st, 2024 at 10 am. They will do a walk-through to observe classes, followed by their regular board meeting.
