Margaret Jean Daniels was born January 17, 1932 to William Robert (Rob) and Mabel Marie (Whited) Snead. She left this world behind on January 25, 2026 at the North Kansas City Hospital at the age of 94.
Margaret was
united in marriage to Leland (Tom) Daniels on April 7, 1951 at the home of
Reverend O.D. Hedges. They made Washington Center their first home. They
decided to leave the farm and moved to Parkville, Missouri where they made
their home for 55 years. To this union three more were added, William (Bill),
Bradley and Joy.
Margaret was
a graduate of the 1950 class of Martinsville High School. While in school she
played basketball and was a cheerleader. She accepted Jesus when in high school
at the Martinsville Methodist Church where she remained a member.
At a young
age Margaret helped her mother run a switchboard and this was a trade she
carried with her throughout her life. Upon moving to Kansas City she started
working at Butler Brothers until Joy’s birth when she decided to become a stay
at home mom. During that time she became an Avon representative so they would
sell Avon together until she resumed her work outside of the home. She went to
work for Electronic Business Equipment and then at Danka as a switchboard
operator/receptionist until her retirement. After her retirement she was full time
caregiver to Tom until he passed away in 2005. But her most rewarding job was
raising her children.
She was a
member of the Order of Eastern Star Barry Chapter #369 for over 50 years,
working her way through the chairs and serving as Worthy Matron.
Margaret was
known for her beautiful hand embroidery, making quilts for each grandchild and
great-grandchild including her new one coming soon. She was a wonderful cook
and always had room at her table for anyone that stopped by. Pies, cinnamon
rolls, gravy. Her fried bacon and homemade syrup were among the favorites.
Margaret was
preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Brad and sister Maxine McCoy. Left
to carry on her memory are Bill and Jackie Daniels of Parkville, Joy and
Marshall Miller of Allendale, Grandchildren; Billy Daniels, Sariah and Alex
Keever, Dylan and Chelsea Miller, Alissa and Colt Ridge, great-grandchildren;
Kendall and Kyle Keever, Malea and Axel Ridge and Tyln Miller, all of which she
loved to spend time with and cook for.
