Jeshua Blaine, Cash Jacobs Deploy

Two young men from Worth County, Missouri—the smallest county in the state—are preparing to represent their community during a yearlong military deployment, a distinction that has drawn both pride and heartfelt local support.

First Lieutenant Jes Blaine and Specialist Cash Jacobs are the only two soldiers deploying from Worth County, a notable fact that underscores the county’s long-standing tradition of service despite its small population. Their upcoming deployment has united families, neighbors, and faith communities in support and prayer.

On December 13, 2025, the families of Blaine and Jacobs participated in a Yellow Ribbon Ceremony, a program designed to support service members and their loved ones before, during, and after deployment. During the event, families met Major General Charles D. Hausman, the Adjutant General of the Missouri National Guard, who provides command and control of over 12,000 Missouri National Guard Soldiers, Airmen, Federal, and State employees. He ensures the Missouri National Guard is manned, trained, equipped, and resourced for its dual state and federal missions.

General Hausman also shared his personal ties to the region, noting his connections to Grant City, reinforcing the strong local roots that continue to shape Missouri’s military leadership. He attended the ceremony alongside his wife, Julie Hausman, both of whom are natives of St. Joseph, Missouri.

As deployment nears, the community supported the young men through a public send-off hosted by Sheridan Christian Church on Sunday, January 4, 2026. The evening included fellowship and a community dinner, followed by a service focused on encouragement and prayer. Church leaders have emphasized the importance of lifting the soldiers and their families in prayer—not only for safety, but for strength, peace, and connection during the year ahead.

“For a county our size, having two soldiers deploy at the same time is significant,” one community member shared. “We want them to leave knowing they are covered in prayer and fully supported back home.”

As First Lieutenant Jes Blaine and Specialist Cash Jacobs prepare to step forward in service, Worth County stands firmly behind them—united in gratitude, faith, and hope until the day they safely return home.
