Don Leroy Blessing, 79, of Eagleville, Missouri, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at his home.
He was born on June 10, 1946, in Bethany, Missouri. The son of Esmond Wayne and Bonnie (Fitzgerald) Blessing.
Don grew up on the family farm and graduated from North Harrison High School in 1964. After graduation, he joined the Army from 1964 to 1966. He served his boot camp in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and in Germany. After he returned home, he worked for Calhoun Manufacturing as a truck driver. Later he moved to Kansas City and attended Maple Woods Community College for a short time, then was employed at Union Station in maintenance for several years.
He married the love of his life, Cora, on November 24, 1979. Later they moved back to his homestead on the family farm in 1994.
Don enjoyed the country life and watching deer roam around his yard.
He was a loving and kind brother which will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He enjoyed attending church at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Blythedale, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora; nephew, Victor Bowen; and his parents, Esmond Wayne and Bonnie Blessing.
Don is survived by his stepdaughters, Linda James and Monica James of Fort Bragg, California; sister, Dixie Bowen and brother-in-law, Harold Bowen; nephew, Bobby Bowen and wife, Chris; nieces, Jeanie Bowen and Teresa Trusty; sister-in-law, Mattie Calvert of Kentucky; and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, MO. Burial with Military Rites followed in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale, MO.
