Road & Bridge foreman Jim Fletchall reported that the road & bridge crew was planning to get the side roads ready for the Route 169 closure that will take place sometime in July following completion of the Route M bridge work. The closure is expected to take three months. The county will smooth out ruts and put on extra rock so that the roads will hold up.
The county had one person in Sheridan, two people hauling gravel, and two sick Monday morning. One grader is at Sheridan and another is at Allendale.
A big culvert near Kevin Hiatt’s is in need of replacement. Fletchall said he had been trying to babysit it for the last two years, but that another hole recently developed. A new six foot tube near Siegrist’s is needed.
Recent rains washed out a few tubes, but Fletchall said it would not be enough to get money from FEMA.
An ambulance call was delayed for a long time recently because the Worth County Ambulance was never notified of the Route M closing near Denver and the Ambulance had to go the other way.
The Worth County Senior Tax Board is looking for 2-3 more older clients who would like to have their homes cleaned. It would be light cleaning work. Contact Stephanie Hardy (660) 562-4036 or Mary Kay Hunt (660) 541-1586 if interested.
