On June 6th, Worth County Prosecutor Janet Wake Larison filed charges against Sarah Spears alleging Assault.
On June 13th, the Bethany Republican-Clipper and KTTN reported that a residential explosion in Blythedale resulted in significant structural destruction and injuries to one person. The individual was transported to KU Medical Center for treatment. The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office is involved.
On June 17th, Brandon Bird (43) of Ravenwood pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Domestic Assault. He was sentenced to two days in jail by Judge Robert Rice with credit for time served.
On June 17th, Makia Shimer (22) of St. Joseph pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of DWI. She was placed on two years probation by Judge Robert Rice. Defendant must complete SATOP and the Midwest Victim Impact Panel.
On June 17th, Tyler Marriott (22) of Maryville admitted to violating his probation. Judge Robert Rice revoked his probation and ordered him to serve 9 days in jail with credit for two days served. Marriott had been on probation on charges of Trespassing and Property Damage. Judge Rice ordered the defendant to pay Private Probation Services $360 in probation fees.
On June 17th, Michael Jacobs (33) of Plattsburg pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Peace Disturbance. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Robert Rice.
On June 17th, Michael Coffelt (43) of Maryville pleaded guilty in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of DWI. He was placed on one year probation by Judge Robert Rice. Defendant must attend SATOP and must use Ignition Interlock Device.
On June 17th, Mark Brown (61) of Henderson (NV) pleaded guilty in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court to charges of Resisting Arrest, DWI, and Speeding. He was sentenced to 114 days in jail by Judge Micha Lea Dixon with credit for 97 days served.
On June 17th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Joseph Herrity (29) of Trenton alleging Driving While Revoked (Felony). Bond was set at $5,000, posted by the defendant.
On June 17th, Mark McPherson (56) of Wichita (KS) was arrested in Nodaway County and extradited to Gage County (NE) to face charges of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony).
On June 17th, Brian Hedrick (67) of Pattonsburg failed to appear in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court on a charge of Property Damage (Felony). A warrant was issued and bond set at $5,000, cash only.
On June 17th, Matthew Baker (25) of Gallatin failed to appear in Daviess County Associate Circuit Court on a charge of DWI. A warrant was issued and bond set at $500, cash only.
On June 18th, the Creston Fire Department reported the recovery of a dead body from Three Mile Lake in Union County. The body was identified as Ryan Woosley (41) of Creston. The Iowa DNR was notified on June 17th at 3 am about a missing person who had gone night fishing the night before and who had not returned. The DNR says severe weather that moved through the area may have contributed. The Creston Dire Department, Iowa DNR, Midwest Regional Dive Team, Union County Sheriff’s Office, and Afton Police Department participated in the search.
On June 18th, Detroyt Linthacum (19) of Bethany pleaded guilty in Harrison County Associate Circuit Court to charges of DWI, Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident), and No Seat Belt. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Jay Hemenway. Defendant must serve 90 days in jail, to be served on weekends. Defendant must pay a $10 fine for the seat belt charge, $300 to the Law Enforcement Restitution Fund, complete a family treatment program, attend AA meetings on a weekly or greater basis, and wear an alcohol pager for 90 days.
On June 18th, Troy Asher (52) of Sheridan pleaded guilty in Gentry County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Careless & Imprudent Driving. He was assessed $215.50 in fines and costs by Judge Rebecca McGinley. Defendant successfully completed a driver improvement course.
On June 18th, Judge Corey Herron denied a motion to dismiss by the City of Hopkins in the lawsuit filed by former clerks Teddy Phipps and Krystal Bowen.
On June 18th, Jeffrey Blair (64) of Wichita (KS) failed to appear in Nodaway County Associate Circuit Court on eight traffic charges. A warrant was issued and bond set at $500, cash only.
On June 18th, Marshall Kennedy (23) of Pattonsburg pleaded guilty in Gentry County Associate Circuit Court to charges of DWI and Failure to Register. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Rebecca McGinley. Defendant must pay $300 to the Law Enforcement Restitution Fund, pay $405.50 in fines, pay court costs of $115.50, complete SATOP within 90 days, and perform community service with the City of Albany for 90 days.
On June 18th, Austin Johnson (23) of New Hampton pleaded guilty in Harrison County Associate Circuit Court to a charge of Animal Abuse. He was placed on two years probation by Judge Jay Hemenway. Defendant must serve 15 days shock time in jail and may not harbor or keep animals.

On June 19th, the Maryville Forum reported that fifth street in Maryville between Hester and Mattie streets was closed after a kitchen fire at a duplex. The fire was put out, and crews remained on the scene to clear the duplex of smoke.
On June 19th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Roberto Hernandez-Vazquez (34) of Gallatin alleging Making a False Report. Bond was denied. An affidavit from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department alleges the defendant provided false identification to officers.
On June 19th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Dustin Sperry (43) of Pattonsburg alleging Stalking (Felony). Bond was denied.
On June 20th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Ryan Eckstein (40) of Maryville alleging four counts Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony) and Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony). Bond was denied.
On June 23rd, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Jeramiah Brittain (27) of Gallatin alleging Domestic Assault. Bond was denied.
On June 23rd, Harrison County Prosecutor Michael Wulff filed charges against David Williams (61) of Bethany alleging Leaving the Scene (Felony), Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident), Littering, and Speeding (69 mph). An affidavit from the Missouri State Highway Patrol alleges the defendant struck three road signs on Route W near Bethany and then left the scene.
Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
