Tiger Girls Rise to Third at Rock Port; Brooklyn Richardson, Emma Spencer Finish 1-2 in 100

Worth County’s girls rose to third place Tuesday, April 9th at Rock Port as Brooklyn Richardson and Emma Spencer were 1-2 in the 100 Meter Dash. The boys, going without Bo Collins, who has been a main source of points in the throwing events, finished seventh, but they still collected 50 team points in a loaded field that included Mound City.

For the girls, Rock Port had 105, East Atchison 79.5, Worth County 74, Mound City 59.5, Nodaway Valley 46, St. Joseph Christian 45, Albany 43, Platte Valley 41, Stanberry 40, South Holt 22, Maryville JV 10, Hamburg 10, NEN 6, and Union Star 1.

For the boys, Mound City had 149, Platte Valley 76.33, East Atchison 66, Stanberry 62.33, Rock Port 54, Albany 53, Worth County 50, Nodaway Valley 31, Maryville JV 20, St. Joseph Christian 14, NEN 8, Union Star 2.33, South Holt 2, and North Nodaway 1.

After being edged out by Spencer all year, Brooklyn Richardson won the 100 with a time of 13.45 seconds. Emma Spencer was right being with a time of 13.53. Both had season bests. The two were 2-3 in the 200. Emma Spencer got a personal best in the event and finished second with a time of 28.22. Brooklyn Richardson finished third with a time of 28.75, trying it out for the first time. 

Riley Ridge and Kristen Tracy both got personal bests in the 100 Hurdles. Riley Ridge was third with a time of 18.14. Kristen Tracy finished just out of the money in seventh, but improved by .39 of a second down to 18.82. 

The 4x100 team got a personal best and won with a time of 52.91. The 4x400 took almost seven seconds off their time and got a time of 5:08.54. 

Riley Ridge won the High Jump and improved on her height, getting a height of 1.60 meters. Eva Engel won the Pole Vault on tiebreaks over Ava Barnes, getting a height of 3.35 meters. 

Kara Staton was fourth in the Shot Put with a season best of 9.53 meters. Autumn Cousatte improved on her Javelin throw by 1.64 meters from the Early Bird, getting fifth place with a personal best 28.34 meters.

For the boys, Landon Moser got a personal best in the 100 with a time of 12.52. In the 100 Hurdles, Lucas Frisch, trying to chase down August Meadows of Mount City in the 110 Hurdles, finished second and got a personal best of 16.51. Brayden Combs, who had been hovering around the 19.73 barrier all year, broke through it and got sixth with a personal best time of 19.50. In the 300 Hurdles, Frisch improved on his time by 1.34 seconds and finished second behind Meadows with a time of 42.69. Brayden Combs, who ran it several times last year, did it for the first time this year and improved on his time from last year by 1.18 seconds, getting a time of 47.59. 

The 4x100 relay team was third with a time of 47.16. The 4x400 was fifth with a time of 3:56.73.

Andrew Griffin was third in the High Jump with a height of 1.68 meters. Brayden Combs was fifth in the Pole Vault with a personal best height of 2.90 meters.

In the Long Jump, Andrew Griffin, trying it for the first time, finished fourth with a jump of 5.57 meters. In the Triple Jump, Landon Moser was fourth with a jump of 11.50. Andrew Griffin was sixth with a jump of 10.83. 

Ethan Lininger got a personal best in the Shot Put with a throw of 9.51 meters, an improvement of 1.07 over his throw in the Early Bird. Tyler New was second in the Javelin with a throw of 41.87 meters. Ethan Lininger got a personal best with a throw of 24.11.

Baylie Busby was third in the High Jump with a height of 1.43 meters. Dalanie Auffert got a personal best in the Shot Put with a throw of 8.96 meters. Hayley Yost got a personal best in the Discus with a throw of 18.02 meters. That was an improvement of 1.28 meters over her previous throw at the Early Bird. Baylie Busby got a personal best in the Javelin with a throw of 27.35 meters. That was an improvement of 1.22 meters over her throw at the Early Bird. 

For the boys, Jude Archer got a season best in the 100 with a time of 12.94. Chase Allen improved his time in the 800 by over 10 seconds, getting a personal best of 2:32.36. Chase Allen got a personal best in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.87 meters, an improvement by .55 of a meter from the Early Bird. Toryn Privett got a personal best in the Shot Put with a throw of 8.51 meters. Kyler Scadden was third in the Javelin with a throw of 35.95 meters. 

North Nodaway

Jordan DeLeon improved his time in the 300 by 1.73 seconds and finished sixth with a time of 46.83.
