William "Bill" Treese 1943-2024

William “Bill” Treese, 80, of Maryville, Missouri passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at his home.

Bill was born on August 2, 1943, in Pickering, Missouri to Bernard and Mary (Wilson) Treese. He was a graduate of Northeast Nodaway High School. Bill loved watching sports, including his beloved Kansas Jayhawks, the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals. He loved farming, Oliver tractors and enjoyed reading old westerns. 

Bill began his career in the printing business, later establishing a successful business at Rush Printing as owner and operator. He was a member and a past-president of the Optimist Club and volunteered at Camp Quality.

He married his high school sweetheart Garnette M. Hawk on September 2, 1961 in Platte City, Missouri. She preceded him in death on December 28, 2021. He was also preceded by his parents, in-laws George B. and Margaret Hawk, daughter, Traci Major, brother, Edward Treese, brother’s-in-law, Larry Wright and Dean Hawk, sister-in-law, JoAnne Hawk, niece, April Lawyer and nephew, David Barger. 

Survivors include his children, Todd (Mary) Treese, Tassi Bryant, and Tonia (Tim) Auffert; sister, Bernita Wright, Kaye (Richard) Barger and Brenda (Guy) Ray; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Treese has been cremated under the care of Price Funeral Home. Per his wishes a private family service will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ravenwood, Missouri.

The family suggests memorials to the Oak Hill Cemetery in Maryville or Oak Lawn Cemetery in Ravenwood.
